Check Out This Poster For JHorror Short Film SHI, By PACIFIC RIM's Carlos Salgado

When I was at Rue Morgue's Dark Carnival the other week I met this lovely filmmaker from Japan, Pablo Absento. Absento came to Dark Carnival armed with a batch of new posters for her short film Shi. This variant has never been seen outside of the expo circuit until now. The artwork was done by Carlos Salgado who did conceptual art for Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim

An ordinary day starts horribly for the character when he receives some bad news. It changes his life right away. Everything would go wrong from that moment on.

Can things get worse than the worst?

Orginally from England and now residing in Tokyo Absento created her short film Shi as a proof of concept for a feature film. It would also be a part of a bigger project she is planning for called Japanese Legends.

The short film played at a bevy of film festivals around the World and was made available online at the beginning of the year. You can watch her short below.
