TRAVERSE MEDIA ACQUIRES SOCIAL JUSTICE DOCUMENTARY 'BARZAN' IN ADVANCE OF BIG SKY DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL
LOS ANGELES -- Film distribution, production, and management Company Traverse Media today announced the acquisition of the documentary BARZAN, a festival favorite, for digital distribution across North America.
Directed by Bradley Hutchinson and Alex Stonehill, BARZAN is an intimate portrait of a suburban family ripped apart by accusations of terrorism. Shot both in Iraq and Seattle, this investigative documentary examines terrorism, immigration, and the sacrifices we make to protect the American dream. WINNER of Best Documentary at the Evolution Film Festival, Light in Motion Award Nominee at the Foyle Film Festival, and an official selection of prestigious festivals such as Sarasota, Seattle International, Woodstock, and now Big Sky, BARZAN has proven itself a hit with activists and the film community alike. BARZAN won the 'Crystal Heart Award' at the Heartland Film Festival.
Jason Tyrrell, Director of Acquisitions and Distribution for Traverse Media said, 'BARZAN truly brings to light an important and controversial conversation about the price of security in the 21st century. It's an incredible story we can't wait for people to experience.'
Traverse Media will release BARZAN on iTunes and Amazon on September 2nd and cable video on demand September 4th.
