Anchor Bay And Raven Banner Acquire Effects Vet Paul Jones` Debut BUZZKILL
It`s the May Two-Four weekend here in Canada; named so because it is a long weekend and a two-four is a case of beer; which we Canadians consume many of on a long weekend - not that we need an excuse. So excuse while we`re a couple days behind on this. Anchor Bay UK and Canada, along with our friends at Raven Banner Entertainment, acquired the Canadian and UK rights for veteran effects creator Paul Jones` directorial debut Buzzkill

"We are thrilled to be expanding our relationship with Anchor Bay, from Canadian distribution of acquired titles to our own in-house productions", said Raven Banner managing partner James Fler.

Anchor Bay Canada general manager Rob Herholz added: "Buzzkill represents a great collaboration between Raven Banner, Anchor Bay Canada and Anchor Bay UK. We look forward to the intense, and grisly rollercoaster ride that the film is destined to become."

The story of the film centers around a small town built on the site of a former Nazi POW camp where the Third Reich experimented on dead soldiers. And while Nazis, the undead, and experiments, is on the verge of sounding old hat - Frankenstein`s Army, two Dead Snow films, two Outpost films - the upside is that having an effects vet like Jones at the helm at least ensures that the visual effects will be top shelf. We could be in for a very gruesome affair.

Production begins here in Canada towards the end of the year.
