Does The New WARM BODIES Trailer Show There's Still Life In Zombie Comedies?
The new trailer for Warm Bodies, starring Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) and Teresa Palmer (Wish You Were Here), does show some promise and invention, even if for every gag it earns, there is another that we've seen before in another movie. In its favour, Levine's film also boasts a supporting turn from John Malkovich, so I'm willing to plant my flag in the "cautiously optimistic" camp, at least for the time being. When they have the right material, all three of these performers have shown themselves to be more than capable of delivering the goods - and the same can be said for Levine as well. Provided this trailer is just a teaser of what is to come in Warm Bodies, rather than all the best bits cobbled together, this could be a film worth keeping an eye on.
Synopsis:
A funny new twist on a classic love story, WARM BODIES is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human - setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.
