DTFF 2012: THE REPENTANT, HORSES OF GOD and THE LEBANESE ROCKET SOCIETY Win Top Awards
Last night, the winners of the Arab Film Competition and the Audience Awards were announced at the 4th Doha Tribeca Film Festival, with a total of ten different awards up for grabs, in Feature, Short Film and Documentary categories.

Merzak Allouache's The Repentant was named Best Narrative Film, while director Nabil Ayouch was awarded the Best Filmmaker prize for Horses of God. The Best Feature Documentary award went to The Lebanese Rocket Society, with Hanan Abdalla named Best Documentary Filmmaker for In The Shadow of a Man. The Best Short Film prize went to Ehab Tarabieh's The Forgotten, while the short documentary Bader won the Made in Qatar Award.

Development Award - Sanctity (dir. Ahd)

Best Short Film - The Forgotten (dir. Ehab Tarabieh)

Made in Qatar:

Made in Qatar Award - Bader (dir. Sara Al-Saadi, Maaria Assami, Latifa Al-Darwish)

Special Mention - Lyrics Revolt (dir. Shannon Farhoud, Ashlene Ramadan, Melanie Fridgant, Rana Khaled Al Khatib)

Audience Awards:

Best Feature - Full Circle (dir. Zhang Yang)

Best Documentary - Searching for Sugar Man (dir. Malik Bendjelloul)

The 4th Doha Tribeca Film Festival runs from 17-24 November 2012.
