William Kaufman Planning SINNERS AND SAINTS 2!

Director William Kaufman's SINNERS AND SAINTS was one of the best action films, and one of my personal favourites, in 2011. It was released in DVD format in a few overseas markets (including Australia, where I saw it) before securing a wide release (in DVD and Blu-ray) in its home country America earlier this month. It seems that many US film critics have also been impressed by it. It therefore comes as no surprise that 2012 looks to be a very busy year for the director.   

When I interviewed Kaufman back in November last year, we talked about his new projects being ONE IN THE CHAMBER, an action thriller set in Romania that stars Cuba Gooding Jr. (who also starred in Kaufman's other recent film THE HIT LIST) and Dolph Lundgren; and STOLEN, which was described as 'TAKEN meets MAN ON FIRE, hopped on steroids'.

Now I just saw on Kaufman's Facebook page that Chad and Evan Law (who worked with Kaufman on THE HIT LIST as screenwriters and ONE IN THE CHAMBER as associate producers) have been asked to write the screenplay for SINNERS AND SAINTS 2 for filming to start as soon as possible. Johnny Strong will be back as Detective Sean Riley, and Kaufman promises the sequel will have more exciting action than SINNERS AND SAINTS.

This is exciting news indeed, and I am certainly looking forward to seeing Kaufman's new projects this year!
