US Trailer For Dennis Gansel's THE WAVE
It has taken a good long time for Dennis Gansel's acclaimed thriller The Wave to come to US shores. Long enough, in fact, that in the days since this picture first turned heads in its native Germany and abroad on the international festival circuit Gansel has completed and released another film - sexy vampire picture We Are The Night - and is currently in active production on another.

But delayed or not, a film this strong is too good to let slip off into the night unnoticed and so Sundance Selects are giving it a limited theatrical release starting on June 9th with the VOD run beginning the day before.

Germany today. During a project week, high school teacher Rainer Wenger (Jurgen Vogel) comes up with an experiment in order to explain to his students how totalitarian governments work. A role-playing game with tragic results begins. Within a few days, what began as harmless notions, like discipline and community, builds into a real movement: THE WAVE. By the third day, the students start ostracizing and threatening others.

When the conflict finally erupts into violence at an intramural water polo game, the teacher decides to break off the experiment. But it's too late. THE WAVE is out of control...
The US trailer has just arrived, check it out below.
