After a short rest break both Eiga.com and Box Office Mojo are reporting again on the box office numbers for Japan. Will Smith's "I Am Legend" is still tops the Japanese box office for a fourth week. "Meet The Robinsons" (in Japan retitled - Louis To Mirai Dorobou/Louis and the Future Bandit) and "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" (in Japan retitled - National Treasure: Lincoln Ansatsusha No Nikki/Dairy of Lincoln's Assassin) also continue to hold strong in the number two and three spots respectively. Hashimoto Hajime's latest movie, the grand and colorful "Cha Cha Dengai No Onna" (Tea - Women on The Horizon; Toei) with Wao Youka, Tomita Yasuko and Terajima Shinobu will most surely enter the top ten next week.

Other notable movies making their road-show debut the first weeks of 2008 include, the feature length documentary movie version of the TV series "Planet Earth" (simply titled "Earth", 1/12), Tim Burton's "Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (in Japan retitled "Sweeny Todd: Fleet Gai No Akuma No Rihatsushi/Demon Barber of Fleet Street; 1/8), François Girard's erotic Japan-themed film "Silk" (1/19) and Peter Greenaway's film about Rembrandt, "Nightwatching" (in Japan retitled: Rembrandt No Yakei/Rembrandt's Night Watchman; 1/8).
