Momentum PIctures has picked up Scott B. Hansen's exorcism flick The Possession Experiment. The flick was directed by Scott B. Hansen (Monumental) and written by Mary J. Dixon (Until It Hurts) and Hansen. Chris Minor (Edge) takes the lead with Jake Brinn (Glimpse), Nicky Jasper (Nocturne). KT Fanelli (“Pretty Bad Girls”) and Bill Moseley (Halloween) round out the cast.
THE POSSESSION EXPERIMENT tells the story of Brandon (Minor), who has always been drawn to the supernatural. When asked to pick a topic to base his final world theology class project on, he decides to explore the dark world of exorcisms. Teamed up with three classmates, the group investigates a multiple homicide that they eventually discover was an exorcism gone horribly wrong. Brandon becomes obsessed with the event, and in a strange turn of events, decides the only way to research this topic is to undergo an exorcism himself.
Thank goodness for the human condition to ignore all rhyme and reason when it comes to the supernatural and dive in head first without a second thought. If we ever truly learned a lesson from all our misadventures then there would be an vast shortage of horror films about people doing silly things then paying for it with their lives.
Momentum is a division of Entertainment One. There was no word on what the release strategy is for the flick.
