AFM 2016: Raven Banner Picks Up Martial Arts Sci-Fi, MEZA

It's been several years since the members of Canadian martial arts film stunt and stage troupe, Team 2X, began upscaling into feature film territory with their latest sci-fi thriller, Meza. Crowdfunding was shortlived but that didn't stop the production from moving forward under team members James Mark in his latest stint in a budding career in filmmaking with younger brother, actor and stuntman Chris Mark in his premiere role.

The Marks' have since completed the film prior to a private screening late last year and are now ready to take the film to buyers this weekend at American Film Market in Santa Monica, California. Canadian genre outfit and the film's recent worldwide sales rights holder, Raven Banner Entertainment, made it official this week along with the sales poster art.

Toronto, Canada - The genre specialist has landed worldwide sales rights to James Mark’s sci-fi actioner, Meza.

Meza tells the story of a troubled high school student who discovers the truth behind his forgotten past, opening the doors to a dark world of superhuman abilities.

The film stars martial arts expert/stuntman Chris Mark (The Hunger Games, Scott Pilgrim VS. The World) and Team 2X (Suicide Squad, Pacific Rim, Jedi Ninjas)

Meza is the directorial debut of Team 2X lead and former stuntman James Mark (Falling Skies, Marco Polo, Pacific Rim)

The film will be screening at AFM on Nov. 5th.

The deal was negotiated by producer, Byron Kent Wong of Iron Bay Films/ZERO11ZERO and Raven Banner’s Managing Partners, Michael Paszt and James Fler.
