Sexy Ninjas Pt 2. Pink Eiga's 'Ninja Pussy Cat'

Hiroyuki Kawasaki and screenwriter Ribon Kawasaki combine two of our favorite things - ninjas and sexy - and play around with a bit of Japan's history to make an erotic tale of female Ninjas. It would be director Hiroyuki Kawasaki's second theatrical release ever, but would spawn an endless series of direct to video female ninja pink eiga movies - Lady Ninja Kasumi and Lady Ninja Kaede - making Kawasaki the lady ninja director of choice.  

Too start, in Ninja Pussy Cat the bad guy is Hattori Hanzo, yes, the famous samurai and ninja of the Sengoku era and popular figure in almost any important show or film about ninjas. Only having limited exposure to some of these other productions I've only ever seen him as a good guy so it was quite different to see him portrayed as a sexual deviant and enemy to Kaede. He is accompanied by the beautiful and equally evil, Toki, who has mastered Lady Ninja Arts such as The Venus Fly Trap. You're mind doesn't have to wander that far to figure out what that entales. 

Both Toki and Kaede are Kunoichi, or lady ninja. Quick history lesson. Though documentation on ninjas is apparently scarce and there isn't a lot of proof of lady ninjas the term itself is believed to be derived from the three strokes in the Kanji for 'woman'. Another thought is that the term has to do with Japanese numbers and Kunoichi then translates to 'Nine to One', the one being the... well... the woman's vagina, of which she possesses tremendous skill in use. Which in the context of Kawasaki's film would make perfect sense. 

When compared to a production like Sexy Timetrip Ninjas there are clearly differences in approach and execution. Though Kawasaki shot his film in only three days you wouldn't think so. Granted the actual Ninja action in the film is palatable at best you watch it for sexy ninjas instead. Also, while Takita's Groper movies have that goofball element to them here both Kawasaki's play it straight. In fact, their film kind of loses that sexy element to it in the second half once Toki and Kaede start using their Kunoichi skills and people start dying after having sex with them. Not cool and kind of a buzz kill. 

On second thought, I don't think I will buy that mysterious lady in the kimono that shot of sake. That's not to say that the first half doesn't have it's moments. Hanzo desecrates his sword, Kaede almost loses a finger, and the young ninjas upstairs express their love for each other. It's all very erotic and pleasing to the eye to that point. But Ninja Pussy Cat should satisfy any pinku film lover with a hankering for some ninjas as well.
