David Gordon Green follows-up Prince Avalanche with this Nic Cage starring Southern gothic tale. Green borrows Mud's Tye Sheridan from his buddy Jeff Nichols to play opposite Cage.
We Gotta Get Out of This Place
We are expecting great things from Simon and Zeke Hawkins's feature directorial debut Southern teen crime tale produced by Rough & Tumble's Justin X. Duprie and Brian Udovich (The Wackness, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, A Necessary Death).
Life of Crime
Daniel Schechter's third feature (Goodbye Baby, Supporting Characters) is this kidnapping caper comedy based on Elmore Leonard's The Switch.Jennifer Aniston, John Hawkes, Isla Fisher, Will Forte, and Tim Robbins star.
The Railway Man
Colin Firth stars alongside Nicole Kidman, Stellan Skarsgård, and Jeremy Irvine in this true story of a man forced into railway labor by the Japanese during World War 2. This is the fourth feature from Aussie director Jonathan Teplitzky (Better Than Sex, Gettin' Square, Burning Man).
All Is By My Side 12 Years A Slave writer John Ridley (but he also wrote Redtails) marks his second feature directorial outing after 1997's Cold Around the Heart with this Jimi Hendrix bio-pic starring Outkast's Andre3000 (Andre Benjamin) as the guitar hero. Imogen Poots and Hayley Atwell co-star.
The Double
Comedian Richard Ayoade's sophomore follow-up to Submarine is this Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska starring adaptation of Dostoevsky's tale of a man and his doppelganger.
Palo Alto
Granddaughter of Francis and daughter of the tragically killed Gio, Gia Coppola must have plenty of her own wild stories to tell. Instead she makes her feature directorial debut with an adaptation of tangled short stories by James Franco set in the eponymous city. Franco stars alongside Emma Roberts, Jack Kilmer, Val Kilmer, Nat Wolff, Zoe Levin, and Claudia Levy.
Under the Skin
There has already been quite a bit of buzz about the nudity in Sexy Beast director Jonathan Glazer's sci-fi thriller that stars Scarlett Johansson as an alien seductress looking for human prey. Suddenly alien abduction doesn't sound all that bad.
Can a Song Save Your Life
Judd Apatow and Anthony Bregman teamed up to produce Once director John Carney's latest music industry drama about a young singer and a washed-up producer. Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld, Adam Levine, Yasiin Bey, Cee Lo Green, and Catherine Keener star.
Enemy Incendies director Denis Villeneuve's second feature at TIFF (WB's Prisoners) is this doppelganger drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mélanie Laurent, Sarah Gadon, and Isabella Rossellini.
The F Word
Canadian national treasure Michael Dowse (Fubar, It's All Gone Peter Tong, Goon) returns to TIFF with rom-com about being more than best friends. Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan, Megan Park, Adam Driver, Mackenzie Davis, and Rafe Spall star.
The Husband
The latest from prolific Canadian director Bruce McDonald (The Tracey Fragments) is this black comedy about an ad exec whose wife goes to prison for sex with a 14-year-old.
Lucky Them
The fourth feature from Seattle's Megan Griffiths (The Off Hours, Eden) is this comedy about a rock journo and a documentarian on the hunt for a reclusive rocker. Toni Collette, Ryan Eggold, Oliver Platt, Nina Arianda, and Thomas Haden Church star.
Attila Marcel
Sylvain Chomet has earned plenty of fans with his stylish animated features The Triplets of Belleville and The Illusionist. His live-action feature directorial debut is this whimsical French story of a mute man's musical fantasies.
Felony
Written by and starring Joel Edgerton, Aussie TV director Matthew Saville's second feature (Noise) is a tense tale of a cop trying to cover up his role in an accident.Tom Wilkinson, Jai Courtney, and Melissa George co-star.
You Are Here
This debut feature from Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner is the story of a womanizing weatherman and stars Owen Wilson, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, and Laura Ramsey.
Tracks - Sold!
While it was for sale when we originally planned this piece, John Curran's (We Don't Live Here Anymore, The Painted Veil) Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver starring true 1977 story of a girl attempting to cross the Outback on foot has been scooped up pre-fest by The Weinstein Co.
