Clint Howard

SPECIAL GUEST

From his acting debut at age two on the Andy Griffith show, to his first leading role in the TV series Gentle Ben, including roles throughout so many blockbuster films, arthouse films, valued comedies, with a rare voice adding life to multiple characters of Disney, Clint Howard is an iconic Hollywood legend. He is one of very few if any who has had a unique four generation Star Trek run, including episodes in Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Enterprise, all the way to Star Trek: The Original Series. Clint has played a variety of characters in classic films such as FrostNixon, Apollo 13, the Austin Powers trilogy, The Waterboy, The Rocketeer, Tango and Cash, and Disney's The Jungle Book, along with hundreds of other titles through his 60 years of acting. His roles in ever popular cult horror films have made him an icon in the genre world, and we welcome Mr. Howard to the Telluride Horror Show with a special presentation of his cult classic Ice Cream Man, presented by Vinegar Syndrome.

Jeremy Robert Johnson

GUEST AUTHOR

Jeremy Robert Johnson is the author of The Loop, Skullcrack City, In the River, and Entropy in Bloom. His fiction has been praised by The Washington Post and Publishers Weekly, authors such as David Wong, Chuck Palahniuk and Jack Ketchum, and has appeared internationally in numerous anthologies and magazines. A long-time member of the Telluride Horror Show family, Jeremy is “a defining name within the [bizarro] genre. His work is most aptly described as a mixture of all these things — thrillers that become bloodbaths, horrors that blend into fantasies, and apocalypses that transcend into high art” (Los Angeles Review of Books). Stephen Graham Jones

GUEST AUTHOR

Stephen Graham Jones is the NYT bestselling author of nearly thirty novels and collections, and there’s some novellas and comic books in there as well. Stephen’s been an NEA recipient, has won the Texas Institute of Letters Award for Fiction, the LA Times Ray Bradbury Prize, the Independent Publishers Award for Multicultural Fiction, three Bram Stoker Awards, four This is Horror Awards, and he’s been a finalist for the Shirley Jackson Award and the World Fantasy Award. He’s also made Bloody Disgusting’s “Top Ten Horror Novels” and is the guy who wrote Mongrels and The Only Good Indians. His latest, Don’t Fear the Reaper, the page-turning sequel to My Heart Is a Chainsaw, will be released in 2023. Stephen is the Ivena Baldwin Professor of English, as well as a Professor of Distinction at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Alma Katsu

Alma Katsu is the award-winning author of seven novels. Her latest is The Fervor, a reimagining of the Japanese internment that the NY Times called "a feat of pure storytelling" and Booklist called “a stunning triumph” (starred). The Hunger, a reimagining of the story of the Donner Party, was named one of the 100 best horror novels by NPR. Red Widow, her first espionage novel, written after retirement from the Intelligence Community, was nominated for the Thriller Writers Award for best novel, was a NYT Editors Choice, and is in development for a TV series.

Paul Tremblay

Paul Tremblay has won the Bram Stoker, British Fantasy, and Massachusetts Book awards and is the author of The Pallbearers' Club, Survivor Song, The Cabin at the End of the World, Disappearance at Devil’s Rock, A Head Full of Ghosts, crime novels The Little Sleep and No Sleep Till Wonderland, and the short story collection, Growing Things and Other Stories. His essays and short fiction have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Entertainment Weekly online, and numerous year’s-best anthologies. Knock at the Cabin, the film adaptation of Paul’s The Cabin at the End of the World, is directed by M. Night Shyamalan and will be released by Universal Pictures in February 2023. Paul has a master’s degree in mathematics and lives outside Boston with his family.

Our friends at the Tulluride Horror Show have announced the lineup and guest list for this year's edition.

Telluride Horror Show is bringing horror and genre thrills to the Colorado crowd for its umpteenth year (it's unlucky to type it out loud isn't it?) and it is not just a cool lineup of movies. The festival is bringing genre icon Clint Howard to the festival this year. He'll be in attendance for a screening of the horror classic Ice Cream Man. He'll even be scooping ice cream for patrons before the screening. Very cool.

The festival also does a darned good job of presenting authors during the festival as well. Of particular interest is the presence of Paul Tremblay, whose novel The Cabin at the End of the World was adapted to a feature film directed by M. Night Shyamalan and released as Knock at the Cabin.

Of course there are the films. This year's lineup includes A Wounded Fawn, Begos' slasher flick Christmas Bloody Christmas, Huesera, exploitation flick Mad Heidi, the gut wrenching Megalomaniac, Benson & Moorehead's Something in the Dirt, Canadian horror flick The Breach and pandemic-era horror The Harbinger. I also think its cool that THS has a retro screening of Pablo Parés & Hernan Sáez's 2001 horror flick Plage Zombie: Zona Mutante. Parés directed this year's delirious Pussycake, which is currently finding its way around the festival circuit.

Clint Howard, Paul Tremblay, and Premieres Will Be Featured in 2022 Program

With help from Colorado friends itchy-O and their track "Gallow's Disco", Telluride Horror Show dropped a trailer today announcing the full program for its 13th film festival, scheduled for October 14-16, 2022 in the funky and unique mining-turned-ski town of Telluride, Colorado (elev. 8,750').

This year's program features a robust international lineup with the latest and best horror films from 15 countries around the world, with numerous directors and cast and crew members in person. Attendees will have a chance to meet Hollywood legend Clint Howard at Friday's Ice Scream Social, where he'll be scooping ice cream before the festival's retro program of ICE CREAM MAN with Q&A presented by Vinegar Syndrome. Pass holders will also be able to test their horror movie knowledge on Sunday during Fright or Wrong's Horror Trivia, where players are encouraged to arrive dressed as their favorite horror villain.

Several other free events will be open to the public throughout the weekend including the 2022 Horror Summit, as well as Creepy Campfire Tales with featured guest authors Alma Katsu, Jeremy Robert Johnson, Stephen Graham Jones, and Paul Tremblay, whose The Cabin at the End of the World will be adapted to a feature film directed by M. Night Shyamalan and released as KNOCK AT THE CABIN by Universal Pictures in February 2023.
