Our friend Justin McConnell went out one night and made another movie.
Well, a couple nights actually, just to make sure he got the best single take he could. Now this new film, a single take thriller titled Red Mile, is currently being repped for sale at AFM. We have a collection of stills, the poster and the trailer to share with you.
Ahead of the 2016 American Film Market, two companies have joined forces to represent director Justin McConnell’s new single-take thriller Red Mile in the worldwide marketplace. Andrew van den Houten’s 79th & Broadway Entertainment will represent the film domestically, while APL Film will handle overseas rights.Red Mile, told in real-time and presented as a single unbroken take, follows a drug-addict (Francesco Filice) who awakens to find the woman he is with dead, and must rush to escape the consequences. Along the way he enlists the help of his strong-willed ex-girlfriend (Caleigh Le Grand), and avoids confrontation with the gun-toting figure chasing him (Patrick McFadden). The film was produced by McConnell’s company Unstable Ground, in association with Pasha Patriki’s 9 Light Entertainment, and van den Houten’s 79th Broadway Entertainment. The deals were negotiated between Andrew van den Houten of 79th & Broadway Entertainment, Warren Nimchuk and Brian Sweet of APL Film, and Unstable Ground’s Justin McConnell.
Red Mile will have its world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival next month.
