It is just so crazy it might work. Variety reported earlier today that Chinese studio Twinkie (yes) have bought the remake rights for the 2011 Danish animated feature Ronal the Barbarian.
“That’s totally awesome. I really hope they will manage to get it financed, I would love a Chinese live action take on our Ronal,” (producer Trine) Heidegaard told Variety.“We are just now starting the development of the film. It is a good, hero story but in a very funny way,” Sheng told Variety. “Chinese audiences would not go for it if it were serious.”
