Jennifer Chambers Lynch to Direct Amusement Park Slasher Flick HELLFEST

Deadline is reporting that Jennifer Chambers Lynch (Surveillance, Hisss) will direct an upcoming psycho killer flick called Hellfest. The flick was written by The Walking Dead EP Gale Anne Hurd.

Hellfest involves a Halloween night of fun turns deadly at a horror theme park when a costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe that it’s all part of the show.

CBS Films president Terry Press said her company has “loved the concept of Hellfest since Gale brought it to us and we have been waiting for exactly the right director. Jennifer came to us with both the passion and the vision necessary to make Hellfest a terrifying Halloween tradition much like the growing phenomenon of the theme park horror nights enjoyed by millions the world over.”

Lynch shot two episodes of last season's Walking Dead, hence the connection to Hurd, and spent much of the last four years directing a lot of television. Sheis also attached to St. Louis set mystery thriller A Fall From Grace.

Production will begin this Winter.
