Fabien Dubois (whose previous shorts include Akira, Burn, and High/Low) and Aladdin Serroui (director of Je suis un echo and co-producer of Welcome to Hoxford) have been working on their short Here We Are for quite some time, and I've beel following it with great anticipation since seeing photos from their location shoot in Iceland. Now a trailer has dropped, and I don't think I (or anyone who sees it) will be disappointed.
Two science students (Serroui and Antoine Lesimple) travel to a remote part of Iceland to test a large-scale magnetic theory. But what they encounter is something larger than themselves, with ramifications that might go beyond the scope of the experiment.
The trailer itself is pretty stunning, not only for the scenery (which would probably be enough to sell me on seeing the film), but also the added hints of the larger story. See for yourself below.
