Another South By Southwest (SXSW) film festival has come and gone, and along with it another memorable adventure in Austin, Texas. Our team of three did our best to see as many films as possible, talk to as many filmmakers as possible, and somehow survive to write about it.

Personally, my top narrative picks were Teenage Cocktail, American Fable, and War on Everyone. I quite enjoyed A Stray and I Am Not a Serial Killer and, for all their silliness, Don't Breathe and Hush.
I also admired what Pet, Johnny Frank Garrett's Last Word, The Master Cleanse, My Father Die, Spaceship and Karaoke Crazies were aiming to do, even if I didn't fully connect with what I saw on screen.
My favorite documentaries were The Slippers, Bang! The Bert Berns Story, and Gary Numan: Android in La La Land (not reviewed, but a heartfelt, humorous, and intimate look at a musician and his family in transition).
