Elizabeth Banks To Play Villain In POWER RANGERS Movie

Heh. This could be fun. 

THR's Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Elizabeth Banks will play the villain, Rita Repulsa, in the upcoming Power Rangers movie. She was originally portrayed by Japanese actress Soga Machiko in the Japanese series that found its way onto our shores back in the 90s. 

This is one of those times where you think, "Well. That just makes perfect sense. Of course Elizabeth Banks can play the villain in a children's superhero movie!". Watching Banks do her thing as Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games franchise (so I am told wink wink) I can totally see her ham it up as the alien witch bent on taking over the Earth. 

In no way does my crush on Elizabeth Banks have anything to do with this opinion. Nope. Not at all.
