THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS Clip Turns Philosophical

Kal Penn waxes philosophical about PCs and Macs in a new clip from The Girl in the Photographs. The film will enjoy its world premiere in the Midnight Madness section at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.

The official synopsis is brief and to the point:

Big-city glamour clashes with small-town values when a celebrity photographer and his entourage descend upon a sleepy community to investigate the bloody doings of a serial killer.

Penn is the celebrity photographer, and in the clip he ruminates, a touch pompously, upon his "artistry." It's tough to get a read on the movie as a whole from the few brief moments here, but the festival describes it as "equal parts an homage to the slasher genre and a clever manipulation of its tropes." Wes Craven served as an executive producer, which is a sign in its favor, as is the presence of the great Dean Cundey as director of photography.

Nick Simon directed. You can watch the clip below.
