A few years ago, DiBlasi made Cassadaga, a slow-burning psychological drama featuring a strong female lead. It had its problems, but I liked DiBlasi's directorial instincts, and the new trailer for Last Shift appears to set up a movie with a similar tone and feel. The official synopsis provides context:
Rookie police officer Jessica Loren (Juliana Harkavy, The Walking Dead) has been assigned the last shift at a closing police station and must wait for a hazmat crew to collect biomedical evidence. Ordered not to leave the station under any circumstance, Jessica comes to learn that it's more than just an outdated station, its home to the ultimate embodiment of evil and his devoted blood thirsty followers. Jessica is left to fend for herself in the Devil's playground.
My expectations are modest, but it looks like they could be exceeded. (I hope.) The movie will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download on October 6 via Magnet Releasing.
ADDED: Note that the trailer is red-band, meaning it's not safe for work and/or more sensitive viewers.
