The customer satisfaction letter everyone wants to write to a vending machine company, what...wait?  Jake Gyllenhaal, very much in his movie-star prime, offers a sharp and funny narration which smoothly transitions to pathos and sentiment before an escalating desire to break stuff. Jean-Marc Vallée's emotional drama, Demolition, opens the Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday.  

Just from the trailer, I am guessing Chris Cooper bags a supporting Oscar nomination here playing the emotionally remote father-in-law to Gyllenhaal's grieving investment banker as they both struggle with a death in the family.
