Every year the folks at the Ithaca International Fantastic Film Festival add to an impressive gallery of festival posters. This year's edition by Steve Ellis is not exception.
While the festival is not prepared to unveil its lineup for this year's festival in November they have let out details for a few special treats that weekend. This year will also see the return of an official IIFFF contest
IIFFF Presents: Fifteen Minutes, or less, of Fame: The Adaptation Contest. You can find out more details about the contest at that link and in the gallery below.
Damn you Steve Ellis and you incredible talent. At least this year there are no babies on it.
The fourth edition will once again host a Fantastic Art exhibit and feature a highlight on the art of Chet Zar with a screening of I LIKE TO PAINT MONSTERS, an amazing documentary and introspection on the artist’s work.
The retrospective showcase will be titled Organic Horror: Obsession with Body Alterations. This skin-crawling selection of cinema, which promises to be their most disturbing retrospective yet, will feature FRANJU'S EYES WITHOUT A FACE, Miike’s AUDITION, and Zulawski’s POSSESSION, among others.
"Everyone has it… that one scene in your favorite movie, the one you can recite word for word, acting out each character's lines and maybe some fancy moves. It didn’t matter whether you identified as the hero, the villain, or the fuzzy sidekick - you were Jules Winnfield, you were Dr. Frank-N-Furter, you were Air Bud.
Following the steps of Chris Strompolos and Eric Zala and their remake, shot by shot, of Spielberg’s original Indy epic, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARC: THE ADAPTATION, we’re giving you the opportunity to finally go behind the camera and geek out! While Chris and Eric’s freshman feature took seven years to film with an extended two decades to debut, we’re doing you a favor and setting the bar a little lower: Share with us your love of cinema, or shall I say, your love for that one scene of cinema history!
Send us the best clip of you and your friends and hey, maybe even your dog [note: please no dead dog scenes] acting out your favorite scene from any fantastic movie and compete for some awesome prizes courtesy of IIFFF. All submissions will have their moment of fame as we screen all submissions before our screening of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK: THE ADAPTATION and applaud the winners!"
