Of course, if any of us had been paying closer attention to the official variant poster when it was put up on the film's facebook page a few days ago we would have seen the RB logo in the lower left corner.Raven Banner acquires The DemolisherAhead of the Fantasia Film Festival, the genre specialist has picked up worldwide rights to Gabriel Carrer's The Demolisher. The film tells the story of a repairman who is tormented by a crippling sense of responsibility for his disabled wife Samantha, an ex-policewoman. His increasing hypersensitivity to the injustice suffered by his wife, steer him down a dark path of vigilantism.Director Carrer said, "I'm thrilled to continue my relationship with Raven Banner. They have been extremely supportive of my film-making career over the years, and have been a significant asset in my growth as genre filmmaker."The company also recently acquired TIFF Midnight Madness pair, Jonas Govaert's adventure horror, CUB and Astron 6's The Editor and are playing Fantasia as well.
This is great news for Carrer and his crew. The Demolisher is truly a grassroots production with no large studio backing them and it is good that someone can come in and do the heavy lifting for them. We will have a review of the film after its premiere a week from Monday.
