It's been a few months since the release of Anime Limited's first
Kill La Kill boxset (reviewed
here and seen
in detail here), so the wait has been long, but finally the second one out of three has arrived.
These sets are aimed at early adopters: people who don't want to wait two years for a cheap bundled edition of the entire series, and are willing to shell out for a set of boxsets with physical extras, to own it now already. This second
Kill La Kill boxset contains ten episodes (one more than the first, heh) and a book with loads and loads of sketches.
So once again, here is a gallery of shots from the second
Kill La Kill boxset. Click on the edge of the pictures to scroll through them, or at the center of one to see a bigger version!
Like with the first boxset, this one consists of a sturdy hard cardboard slipcase with a wrapper. The third set is planned to have a box included which will fit all three of them snugly together.
The box "in the nude", so to speak.
Inside are a digi-pack and a book.
Don't be tricked by the book's thickness, or lack thereof: it's a whopping 220 pages, and therefore I refuse to call it a booklet. Inside it is a huge amount of sketch artwork.
Unlike the book with the first boxset, this one doesn't contain storyboards. Then again, that means there are a solid 220 pages of design sketches, and that is in no way bad news!
Strange thing though: the sketches follow the order of episodes, but end precisely at the point where the episodes of this particular boxset start. So basically these are all the remaining sketches of the previous boxset. Presumably, the book with the next boxset will contain the sketches for the second and third boxset. Time will tell...
The end.
Please make sure boxset three arrives soon, Anime Ltd., or the Student Council will have a word or two with you!
