Japanese director Miike Takashi said in a statement when Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War of the Underworld was announced, "Goodbye to tediously boring Japanese films. No one wanted this to happen, but I am making a rampage back to the basics!", he was not kidding. Yakuza Apocalypse is what, his seventh film in just three years? The man has been on a tear, and an awfully fun one if you ask us. No one even hint at attempting to slow him down.
You do not ask why.
You just say, 'Miike'.
Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War of the Underworld opens in Japan on June 20th.
