James Gandolfini often played to his build: a terrifying, hulking brute of a man, with a face mean enough to hate. But he was also surprisingly effective when counter-cast as the sole voice of reason, or when showing a sudden spark of intelligence, of humanity. It's no accident that he was often given character arcs with elements of redemption in them, as he was so damn good at showing these kind of changes, and the doubt and heartbreak that sometimes comes with them.
So once again I'm going to use ten close-ups of one of my favourite thespians to make a quiz. Click through the images and guess which ten movies they're from. No competition, no prizes, just for fun. Try to see how far you get without using IMDb.
I'll post the answers next Thursday (or earlier if someone gets all ten of them right).
