Toronto 2014: First Trailer for SPRING Is Monstrously Creepy

On the eve of its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, we have a trailer for Spring. The sophomore film from Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution) was shot last year, mainly on the southwest coast of Italy, and that wonderful scenery is on display here. And so are some clues as to the mystery.

After his mother dies, Evan (Lou Taylor Pucci) goes into a tailspin, and in order to avoid an arrest for assault, he escapes to Italy. There, he meets a mysterious woman (Nadia Hilker) with a dark and deadly secret.

I was lucky enough to visit the set last year, and while I already know the story, that's not going to stop me from seeing it. If any of you aren't convinced by the already visible talent of this duo, this trailer should be all the convincing you need.

Fellow ScreenAnarchy writer Andrew Mack also wants you to watch this trailer:

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead's sophomore film, the horror sci-fi romance Spring, will drop like a bomb on the TIFF audience tomorrow night at its World Premiere in the Vanguard Program. Deadline just dropped the international trailer and this film is about to go off!

The trailer sets up lead character Evan's story nicely and with a bit of humor. There is also a bit of mystery about the girl, Louise, and the people about town. And then the trailer blows up and there are visuals alluding to all sorts of cool stuff that I am not even going to hint at. I just want you to experience this as fresh and raw as possible.

Have it and good luck to Justin and Aaron at your premiere tomorrow night!

(Here is that bit where we tell you that XYZ Films is handling sales of Spring and that our lord and master Todd Brown is a partner there. He is already up to his eyeballs in festival stuff and is simply too busy to tell me how to report this news. See you on the other side, bossing)
