Jason Statham Searching For Action Role In China

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jason Statham, who is currently in Beijing as part of the global promotional tour of his new film The Expendables 3, has voiced his continued interest in finding a suitable Chinese action film project in which to star.

Statham starred alongside Taiwanese actress Shu Qi for Hong Kong director Corey Yuen in his career-making 2002 film, The Transporter, and has been hoping to work in Asia ever since. "We (Shu and Yuen) shared a lot of interests and tastes in films," said Statham at a press conference yesterday. "I had this idea, but for years I still haven't fulfilled it...The key is finding the right project with the right person."

The British martial artist's sentiments were backed up by Zhang Zhao, CEO of Le Vision Pictures, one of the producers of both Expendables sequels, who announced that the company would work with Statham to develop "an action movie only for Chinese audiences."

So what say you? Would you like to see "The Stathe" head into Asia and clash with some of China's finest martial artists? If so, who would you most like to see him fight?
