TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION To Debut In Hong Kong

It has just been announced that the latest instalment in Michael Bay's colossal toy commercial movie franchise, Transformers: Age of Extinction, will have its World Premiere in Hong Kong on 19 June.

This is a welcome surprise as Hong Kong rarely features on the world stage in this way, but as a substantial part of the film is set in the city, it does make some kind of sense. You may remember the headline-grabbing antics of Michael Bay and his crew last year when the shoot was repeatedly besieged by money-hungry triads and other assorted ne'er-do-wells looking to cash in on Hollywood's A-List working on their turf.

No word yet which cast and crew members will be headed into town for the event, but Mark Wahlberg and Michael Bay would be safe bets, along with Mainland star Li Bing Bing, who also features prominently in the film. What has been released, however, is news that Imagine Dragons, the band stepping into Linkin Park's shoes by providing the film with its theme song, entitled Battle Cry, will be performing live on the night.

We'll bring you more news as we get it and do our damnedest to be there on the night.
