Onur Tukel's hipster vampire comedy
Summer of Blood has been nabbed by MPI. The film debuted at Tribeca last month. MPI plans to release the film in cinemas and on VOD/DVD in the Fall.
Tukel also stars in the indie as Erik Sparrow, a selfish, schlubby NYC hipster whose miserable life turns around when he meets a vampire in Brooklyn and becomes a blood-sucker himself.
MPI's Greg Newman negotiated the deal with XYZ Films' Nate Bolotin on behalf of the filmmakers. Which is why I am writing this instead of ScreenAnarchy founder and editor, Todd Brown, who is a partner at XYZ Films.
