Screen Daily is reporting that Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory), Chloë Sevigny (Those Who Kill) and Anjelica Huston will star in The Master Cleanse, the debut feature film from director Bobby Miller. The film is promising to be a combination of dark humour and David Cronenberg-style body-horror. Ooh. Count us in.
The Master Cleanse centres on a heartbroken man who attends a spiritual retreat, only to discover that the course releases more than everyday toxins and traumatic experiences.
Production is set to begin in early July in Vancouver. If you want to get a sense of where a film like The Master Cleanse can go, then look at Miller's short film Tub below. MASTERSFX, the effects house that worked on Robocop and Elysium, is handling all creatures and practical effects for the production.
And none of us have any money so you know he is not just saying that to try to sell it to us.
