Cheap Thrills. It was a darling of the festival circuit last year, earning high praise wherever it played, and is a favorite among the folk here at ScreenAnarchy. Yes, it really is that good. It opens tomorrow night (Friday, March 21) at Cinefamily in Los Angeles and Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane in Austin. The film will also be available on iTunes and cable VOD. There is a new trailer to mark the occasion and it asks a simple question: How much is a pinky worth?
On top of the film's release, Drafthouse Films and Fantastic Fest's Tim League has offered up what he is calling MONEY BACK (PLUS) OFFER to those on their mailing list.
If you don't like this movie after this recommendation, here is my money-back offer to you. When you come back to Fantastic Fest, I will refund your purchase out of my own pocket, buy you a beer and let you slap me as hard as you want in the face.
He posted a message on Facebook today that he would be at Slaughter Lane tonight for both screenings and would not wait until September for you to express your discontent with the film on his face. I do not see why you would have to do that, but that is how confident he is in this film; risking life and limb for the betterment of American indie and genre cinema!
