RED WHITE & BLUE's Simon Rumley To Direct Paranormal Project THE LAST WORD

Red White & Blue director Simon Rumley has been attached to direct a paranormal project titled The Last Word. He will be directing a script written by Ben Ketai who has three 30 Days of Night titles to his credit.

Based on true events, Word centers on the strange and tragic aftermath endured by the participants in the trial of a young man in Texas who was wrongly convicted and executed for the rape and murder of a nun.

The true events by which this film will be based on are from a murder case back in 1983 when a 17 year-old mentally challenged boy named Johnny Frank Garrett is wrongfully accused of raping, murdering and mutilating post-mortem a 76 year-old nun. The death penalty was issued and Garrett was killed nine years later in a death chamber in a Texas prison. Before he died he would issue a letter calling out the State and media as frauds and then cursed every person named in the letter. At least 15 people directly related to the case, or related to those people listed in the letter, have died. This includes jurors, reporters, witnesses against Garrett, and attorneys. Creepy stuff.
