Watch The Trailer For UNLEASHED, the Dog Dancin', Kite Flyin' Documentary

After watching this trailer, I figured the filmmakers would be one of two groups - those that get what makes Christopher Guest such a genius, and those that don't. In emailing the first time directors about the project, I laid in a subtle Best in Show reference regarding red pistachio nuts and got an appropriate reply. Consider this a kind of nerd Morse code, sending out a message to the wilderness and hoping against hope that these guys know that what they're capturing is prima facie ridiculous.

The official synopsis is as follows:

An aspiring director and his amateur dog dancing troupe attempt to mount a 'Cirque du Soleil' inspired dog dancing and indoor kite flying theatrical performance.

The trailer shows a real-life Corky St. Clair trying to put on a show involving dog dancing and kite performances. Earnestness is key, of course, and if the film can manage the tricky task of maintaining tone throughout, being funny without being mean or condescending, we just might have something worth checking out.
