Best known for his role in
CSI, American-born actor Archie Kao has signed on to Brightstar Cinema's Chinese thriller
The Deathday Party, opposite Anita Yuen and mainland TV star Xiong Naijin. Written, produced and directed by Hang Tse, it follows the story of Helen (Yuen) and Danny (Kao), fighting to save themselves and their daughter as demons of the past collide with the present. China Film Group will be releasing the film domestically, which began filming last month in the ancient Chinese Alu Caves of Yunnan.
Kao will next be seen co-hosting the 7th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong next Monday night. The event plays as part of this year's Entertainment Expo, which also includes the Hong Kong Film & Television Market as well as the 37th Hong Kong International Film Festival.
