I applaude the framing of the above image taken from James Wan's new horror film,
The Conjuring. Yet the trailer also has the unfortunate side effect of reminding me how much more emotionally attached I was to the children's games in
The Orphanage or the 'slow reveal in an empty house' in
The Strangers. Yet Wan certainly earned some fans and goodwill with his last scare-fest,
Insidious, to the point where he has brought Patrick Wilson along for the ride again. Lili Taylor, Vera Farmiga and Mackenzie Foy also star in the 70's set haunted house film involving paranormal investigators, and, well, ghost-clapping.
