AFM 2012: Jude Law Joins Werner Herzog's QUEEN OF THE DESERT

More star power has joined the cast of Werner Herzog's Gertrude Bell biopic Queen of the Desert. The pic already has Naomi Watts as Bell and Robert Pattinson at T.E. Lawrence (otherwise known as Lawrence of Arabia). 

Personally I am still struggling to visualize Pattinson as Lawrence but if you're going to get Twi-hards to learn about the history of a real female role model this is a good way to do it. 

Bell -- like Lawrence -- was an explorer, writer, archaeologist and attaché for the British Empire, credited with helping to catalyze the formation of the Middle East at the dawn of the 20th century. She and Lawrence often crossed paths.

On a side note. A shocking number of ScreenAnarchy writers have not seen David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia. I KNOW!!! More about that in the new year.
