Director Tony Scott Dies in Apparent Suicide [UPDATE]

[ABC News is now reporting that Scott had been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer shortly before his suicide. UPDATE TWO: Tony Scott's widow is denying ABC's report of brain cancer.]

Tony Scott, the director who made Top Gun, True Romance, Man on Fire, and Unstoppable has died after jumping from a bridge in San Pedro, California.

Scott, 68, left a suicide note in his car before climbing a fence and leaping to his death. He and his older brother, director Ridley Scott, were busy as TV producers as well as filmmakers.
