Ghibli Retrospective: The Kids Talk HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE

ScreenAnarchy is certainly not the youngest of movie websites, and a number of the writing staff have children that are old enough to understand and consume media in a way that is both raw and fresh, but also with the inklings of consideration.  In short, this is the age where many of us fall in love with the movies.  Thus, we are offering you the perspective of smaller children as they react to seeing classic animation on the big screen.  And what better way to kick things off with the works of Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata and the folks at Studio Ghibli.

With the 15 film Ghibli retrospective in full swing at TIFF Lightbox, Willem (age 9) and Miranda (age 7) took in the epic and intimate Howl's Moving Castle, and had a lot to chew on (including M&Ms).   Find out Miranda's theory on the back-story of the Witch of the Waste, and Willem's explanation of portals and gates and the hearts of wizards.  Oh, and house-keeping.  One last thing:  Please forgive my indulgence, in that this episode is a double-digest 9 minutes in length.  Enjoy.
