Russian director Timur Bekmambetov impressed a lot of people with his fantastic vampire films, Night Watch and Day Watch, and again with his first english-language film Wanted, based on the Mark Millar/JG. Jones graphic novel. Now, backed by producer Tim Burton and writer Seth Graham-Smith, Bekmambetov is bringing us what sounds like the unlikeliest of stories: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Today brings the first official trailer for the film. And it looks pretty fantastic. I know nothing about the book, but it looks as though Bekmambetov is going to bring some glorious style and action to the big screen, combining a little history with some fantasy and a whole lot of poetic action. The film will be released on June 22nd.
