In the past few years, the international action star has taken it easy on physical demanding roles as father time is catching up to him, thus has opt to take on supporting or serious roles with the most recent being the historical drama 1911. It seems his best days were behind him. Fortunately for old school fans, Chan plans to deliver one last hurrah, writing/directing/producing what he called his "most authentic kung fu Jackie Chan movie" with Chinese Zodiac (εδΊηθ, aka CZ12), a globe-trotting action adventure that involves searching and retrieving a series of ancient treasure related to Chinese history.
A concept teaser has been release to the Chinese media outlet. While no actual footage has been revealed, it presents a retrospective montage of Chan's classic action films in chronological order, follow by a behind-the-scenes glimpse of gun fights, car chase and his trademark improvise-with-the-environment style of fighting. Its awesome stuff that harkens back to the Armour of God series.
Even through filming is currently in progress, the release date had been locked on December 12th, 2012 in IMAX theaters, exactly one year from now. You'll find the 1-minute promo embedded below.
