Arriving unbidden and unannounced in my mailbox was this awesome old bit of cheese from MGM MOD. Made for TV in 1974 I actually saw this growing up when it originally broadcast. When a venerable movie studio decides to sell it's backlot off as eeal estate a mysterious figure in medieval executioners garb begins killing everyone who sets foot there using a spiked ball and chain mace. There are a bunch of recognizable actors in this thing including Peter Lawford, Jackie Coogan, and Broderick Crawford. But the real star is Jack Cassidy as Otto Vonner, the eccentric old studio rat. This also has a great score, and a palpably pulpy sense of gothic adventure.
