Join THE WILD HUNT and make sure you get this DVD

On a list of very good movies I've seen this year The Wild Hunt ranks high. Suspenseful, full of dread, and genuinely intelligent it would be easy to say this is a film better than it has a right to be. The truth is that director Alexandre Franchi and fellow screenwriter Mark A. Krupa have crafted a complex tragedy set in an narrative environment  that would have completely overwhelmed most attempts to tell a story. Erik's girlfriend leaves him for someone involved in Live Action Role Play. Deciding to win her back he ventures into a secluded wooded village built especially for the gamers he becomes an unwilling part of the game.

The genius of the film is that what the game actually is, is examined in great detail and unpacked emotionally and psychologically by a very good cast. Where the film goes, you might just barely begin to guess, but not entirely. This is devastating, stuff, surely one of the great takes on LARP ever put on film. You get only minor extras here that include making of and festival event featurettes storyboards and the trailer.

You come to ScreenAnarchy to hear about stuff you might miss? This is one of those. Go get it now.
