Second Trailer for Brad Anderson's VANISHING ON 7TH STREET

There seem to be a lot of folks who have seen Brad Anderson's latest feature, Vanishing on 7th Street, that want the film that is on offer this in this second trailer; a post-apocalyptic action/survivor film.  But truth and advertising are rarely the same thing.  Instead the film is not exactly as kinetic as this trailer would have you believe, but turns out to be an interesting enough metaphysical tale, certainly worthy of the time of anyone who values films made a little different, a little stranger, a little more oblique. I believe the film is smarter than people are giving it credit for - not necessarily for everyone, but I really dug it.

Hayden Christiansen, Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo are a few of the last survivors on earth as a malevolent darkness threatens to extinguish the human race entirely.  They are at a loss as to the cause and the cure, and their situation becomes nearly hopeless as they hole up in a bar to wait for the inevitable.  Anderson explores the implacability of the narrow and fragile human existence in a world of indifferent cruelty raised to the power of 10.
