Ok action fans, I have good news and bad news...
First off, the good news. According to several Turkish sites, Scott Adkins (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ninja, Undisputed 3) and Cyril Raffaelli (Banlieue 13, The Incredible Hulk, Tekken), both martial arts extraordinaire, will take a role in Dark Deal (Karanlık Hesaplaşma'nın) with Raffaelli also serving as the fight choreographer/stunt coordinator. The film is allegedly hailed as the most expensive production ever in Turkey and its expected to blow the minds of action buff everywhere. On what capacity their acting role and the plot entails is unclear as of yet but its been confirmed that Turkish actors Ali Surmeli, Kenan Isik and Tamer Karadagli will be among the cast.
So whats the bad news? The Turkish actioner will be helm by none other than the notorious director Andrzej Bartkowiak who brought us such disastrous trainwrecks as Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, Doom and Cradle 2 the Grave. His name in the credits doesn't exactly filled me with the utmost confidences on the film success, even if you have Adkins and Raffaelli attached.
Filming will begin on February 25th with location shooting to take place in Istanbul (Turkey), Thailand and Russia. The tentative release date is sometime in October. More details as we get them.
