Pilot for Swedish psychological horror film 'Marianne'

Swedish short filmmaker Filip Tegstedt wrote us and let us know that he is about to set upon his first feature film after shopping around his three minute pilot. Starting back in 2003 with an idea and eventually finalizing the complete draft in 2007 he set out with amateur actors to create the conceptual work this past summer. The low budget production is slated for May and July this year.

"Marianne is a psychological horror film about a broken family in Ostersund, which balance the line between fantasy and reality." The film's main character Krister experiences a phenomenon called sömnparalys, a condition where you can wake up paralyzed, while you can know that other people in the room. Krister's wife just died and that he is haunted by nightmares and guilt over its 16-year-old daughter. Then comes an avenging woman up at night, a woman who he knows is dead. She moves into his house when he is in a half awake. The point is that you do not know if Krister seeing things that really happens or if it is known as hypnopompa hallucinations and sömnparalys who strikes fear in him.

The amateur actors will be replaced though he cannot divulge who in the Swedish acting community has committed to the project. Tegstedt also promises that he will have better cameras and tools will be used for the features production. That alone will make a difference and allow Tegstedt better control over his camera movement and better texture in his visuals. I would like to see more.

His pilot video is embedded after the break.
