'Queens of Pattani' is now 'Queens of Langkasuka' with spiffy posters!

We're chomping at the bit here waiting to see Nonzee Nimibutr’s Queens of Langkasuka which underwent a name change from Queens of Pattani, a bid to tone down a title that might carry connotations of the violence in Thailand's three southernmost, predominantly Muslim provinces, one of which is Pattani. Fair enough.

Other than the very impressive promo reels that have been viewed [links below] that hasn't been much else to look at. Until now. There are some impressive character posters available now. We're waiting for a proper trailer to come out soon. Queens of Langkasuka will open in Thailand on August 12, which turns out to very convenient as it is Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand's birthday. After that we'll have to wait for an English friendly DVD to become available and with more and more Thai titles playing in other Asian countries our hope lies in one of those countries to put one out.
