The first trailer has appeared for Hereve Hadmar's mysterious French mini-series, Beyond the Walls ("Au-Dela des Murs" in its native country). It looks like a lush and spooky affair that aims to take the haunted house genre to a new place entirely.
The entire series will screen as one long film at The Horror Channel Fright Festival in August for those in London who are interested in checking it out.
Hadmar comes from the world of graphic arts, turning to directing in the late 1990s, when he wrote and directed Fish out of Water, starring Monica Bellucci. Moving to television, Hadmar has been behind some popular shows, including Witnesses, which has been running since 2014.
Synopsis: Lisa is a young speech therapist who moves into a townhouse she has mysteriously inherited. She discovers hallways and rooms that suddenly appear then disappear, filling her with terror. Her ever-shifting house is also manipulating other occupants, interweaving space-time continuums that lead Lisa on an initiatory journey into the deepest recesses of her psyche.
There is currently no TV airdate for Beyond the Walls.
