Lakeshore Records will be releasing Ulaş Pakkan's score to Can Evrenol's Baskin to iTunes on March 25th - the same day the film hits US theatres and VOD platforms - with CD to follow shortly thereafter and we've got an exclusive music video for the release to share with you here at ScreenAnarchy.
“BASKIN has a timelessness and a post apocalyptic feel to it and we are not totally sure when this series of events is happening. We are given some small clues about the period in the beginning of the movie when we see Arda’s room,” Pakkan stated. “While I was creating the Arda's theme, I tried to reflect the era of their childhood. Arda's theme is the heart of the soundtrack. I reuse it in many of the scenes but arranged in multiple ways to create different vibes.”
Born 1980, Sinop, Ulaş Pakkan graduated from the Music Composition and Audio Engineering program at Istanbul Bilgi University. Pakkan’s expertise includes composition for visual media, arranging and orchestration, mixing for music, sound design, electronic music production and 12 years of rock & jazz drumming experience. Over the years, he produced many EPs and albums ranging in styles of pop, rock, indie and dance, and has composed many jingles and several soundtracks in Turkey.
